Curriculum:
Education System and Affiliation
Our School is Affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate
Examinations which is one of the two recognized and approved All India
Boards of Secondary Education.
The ICSE syllabus provides for a balanced
education, testing understanding and application of concepts. The students
are examined in 7 subjects for the Class X examinations.
The subjects offered by our School are:
1. English
2. Social Studies (History, Civics & Geography)
3. II Language (Hindi or Kannada)
4. Mathematics
5. Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology)
6. Computer Application
7. Environmental Education
Internal Assessment of every student
comprises 20% of the total marks awarded in each subject. In addition
all students must pass in Socially Useful Productive Work (S.U.P.W)
Computer Science
Computer Science is taught from Class I to VIII and Computer Application
as a subject for the Board Examination for Class X. The School has a
well-equipped Computer Laboratory with networking and Internet facility
to enable students to learn by directly interacting with reality, rather
than cram second hand knowledge. Each child has talents unique to himself
/ herself. We develop IT skills - Office, Internet Animation and Multimedia
and Data based Technology by engaging him / her in activities that captivates
his/her imagination. The computer labs have network, multimedia and
broadband. The Science labs are modern with complete laboratory equipment
for practical work.

Physical Education and Sports
The scheme of Physical education
is so planned to ensure the fullest and manifold development
of the individuality of the child, enabling him to obtain mental
soundness, emotional stability, physical maturity and moral
values. Games and sports are designed to involve all the students
at the same time. Special coaching for individual games are
also arranged and the participation in the School Band is encouraged.
The School participates in Inter school sports.
Language Option
Hindi or Kannada. The II Language as Hindi or Kannada is taught
from Class I to X and the III Language as Hindi or Kannada is
taught from Class V to VIII.

Curricular Activities
Historical, Civics and Geographical field trips, participation in Inter
School Literary and other Competitions, ASSET Examinations, Annual Assessment
Tests, Calligraphy and Mental Mathematics classes, Outbound Adventure
Training
are a few of the activities of the School.

Library and Laboratories
When children explore and research on their own, it is a sign
of good teaching. It is a sign that their minds have been facilitated
to become alive, and exploration makes their minds active. Students
use library books for reference, exploring the subjects or recreational
reading. The School has a well equipped central Library with
a large number of books for students and teachers. The School
library is most up to date.

Technology in Education

1. The School has introduced an appropriate method and technology
of educational content and tutorial support - through Net based
education. However the school knows that the power of technology
is no substitute for educational excellence nor is the computer
screen a replacement for a teacher.

3. Presently PACSOFT provide the IT cover to the
school. We have a tie up with NIIT, reputed educationalist for
computer technology who provides the latest software and curriculum.
We use this to teach all the subjects either through the computer
or through audio visual aids. We are collaborating with HCL
for upgrading our infrastructure for the latest needs.

Value Education
1. The epics and stories of all religions, the lives of saints and the
significance of all faiths are recounted and staged in a small way,
at the School assembly. They provide spiritual insights to students.
The message - "there is only one religion - the religion of love,
there is only one caste, the caste of humanity and only one language
- the language of the heart".
2. The School endeavours to ensure that
moral values and traditions do not take a back seat. The students are
taught to develop the necessary skills for group work
and co-operation so as to fit into social and professional dimensions.
The learning together of values from shared experiences synergies their
resources. The School by creating conditions for value education ensures
that values are internalized into the psyche - two mins on a value for
each lesson - relate the value to the lesson if possible.
3. The School celebrates World day and
International days - National Solidarity day, Safety day, Heritage day,
Day of the deaf etc.
Newspaper in Education
Cambridge School follows the highly popular and advantageous NIE programme
(Newspaper in Education). We are associated with two newspapers, Deccan
Herald and the The Times of India. Teaching faculties from the above
newspapers take weekly classes and have discussions with the students
on relevant, topical issues. This has thus improved their awareness
of happenings in the world as well as in India, as well as facilitating
their spoken and written English Language skills.
Play home and Kindergarten
Observation and assessment of everyday interaction and work help teachers
in evaluating the child's progress in all areas. Focus is on developing
the child's sensory and motor skills through various child centered
activities.
Junior School: Std I - Std IV
The subjects of study are English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science,
II Language, Moral Value Study, Computer Science and Environmental Education.
Evaluation will be done to study the progress of the children through
oral tests and work sheets. Sports and Extra Curricular activities hold
an important place in the curriculum.
Middle School: Std V - Std VIII
The subjects of study are English, Computer Science, Mathematics, History
& Civics, Geography, Science, II and III Language, Moral Value Study
and Environmental Education. There will be two tests and two examinations
which will be held every two months to evaluate and study the progress
of the children.
A student should score 50% in each of
the subjects and tests to be promoted to the next class.
High School: Std IX and Std
X
The subjects of study are English, Computer Application, Mathematics,
History & Civics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, II Language
and Environmental Education. The syllabus, examinations and evaluation
will be in accordance with the rules of the ICSE Board. A student of
Std IX is required to score a minimum of 50% in each of the subjects
in all the tests to qualify for promotion to Std X.
